Cropper nets 31 in loss to Anderson

CINCINNATI, Ohio - The Mount St. Joseph men's basketball team welcomed the Ravens of Anderson University to Cincinnati for a Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference tilt on Saturday.  

The Mount was led in the game by Jake Cropper (Georgetown, Ohio/Georgetown) who continued his hot start to the season. Thus far this season he is averaging 20.3 points-per-game which is good for second best in the HCAC. He was outstanding in this one, netting a game-high 31 points on 11-of-19 shooting from the field. 

The Lions led the game from the opening possession as Cropper hit a three to open the scoring. The Mount would maintain the lead for the remainder of the first half. Mitch Moorhead (Cincinnati, Ohio/Elder) pitched in the 10 first half points. On the backs of their seniors the Lions carried a 35-29 lead into the half-time break. 

They continued to hold the lead until there was only five minutes left in the game. Anderson took their first lead on a three point jumper with 5:24 on the clock. They would go on to outscore The Mount 13-9 over the final 5:24 of the game to secure the win.
