Lions defeated by Colonels in second game on the road

DANVILLE, KY - The Mount St. Joseph University Lions traveled to Centre College to take on the Colonels in their second competition of the season. The Lions are facing some hubling games before they get into the thick of their season and before conference play begins. The Mount could not make the connections needed to put up a fight and finished the game with the final score of 1-23.

The Lions were able to get on the board in the first half with Seth Poirier (Somerville, OH/ Talawanda) being able to find Kevin McClanahan (Madeira, OH/ Madeira) in front of the net and McClanahan finished it getting it past the goalie. Those two were unable to find each other again and make the magic happen during the rest of the game. They were able to hold the colonels to two goals in the third quarter but it was not enough. The Lions new players were thrown into the den to learn the fast pace of college lacrosse.

The Lions home opener and next game will be Sunday, March 3rd at 1PM against Oglethorpe University on Schueler Field. Continue to check msjsports.com for more updates on the 2019 Men's Lacrosse season.
