Two First Half Goals Down MSJ at Centre

MSJ Women's Soccer drop their eight match of the season 0-2 to unbeaten Centre College. The Lions move to 4-3-1 on the year while Centre earns their seventh win of the season bringing their record to 7-0-1. 


An offensive barage of shots proved to be too much for MSJ. Centre finished the match with 27 shots, 12 of them shots on goal. MSJ Goalie Michelle Hessling did all she could finishing the match with 10 saves but a gave up two goals in the first half which would eventually be enough to take down the Lions. The Colonel's Destinie Graves struck first in the 12th minute on an assist from Sarah Waldo. Amber Cowell would net the second and final goal of the match in the 39th minute taking Centre into halftime with the 2-0 lead. 

MSJ's Ariel Huber, Stefanie Autenrieb, Kaylan Gruber and Jasmin Cahill would all record a shot on goal but could not capitalize. 


The Lions will look to get back on track on Sunday, Sept. 25th when they welcome Otterbein College to Schueler Field. The match is slated to begin at 1pm.
