Mount St. Joseph lands 27 on Tom Bohlsen Academic All-HCAC list for Spring Sports

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. --- The Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference has announced the 246 spring honorees for the Tom Bohlsen Academic All-HCAC. The ten institutions of the HCAC submit nominations to the academic all-conference team that have at least a cumulative grade point average of 3.5 and are varsity student-athletes.

In order to be eligible for the Tom Bohlsen Academic All-HCAC award, a varsity student-athlete must be enrolled full-time and completed at least one complete academic year at the nominating institution. The cumulative grade point average is the student-athlete's GPA at the end of the semester preceding the end of the spring season.

Student-athletes that participate in the following spring sports were considered for the academic all-conference team: Men's & Women's Outdoor Track & Field, Men's Golf, Men's Tennis, Men's & Women's Lacrosse, Baseball, Softball and Men's Volleyball.

Mount St. Joseph University saw an increase from a year ago with 27 members on the academic all-conference team. Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology recorded 38 honorees to the list while Hanover College added 29 selections to the list this spring season. Transylvania University and Bluffton University each added 26 members to the list.

The academic award is named after Tom Bohlsen, who served as the HCAC's first commissioner from 1998 to 2008.
