Lions Land Three on All HCAC List

INDIANAPOLIS, IN - The Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference announced their All-Conference honors this evening for the 2018-19 men's basketball season. Three Mount St. Joseph University athletes earned conference honors this season. The Lions finished the season 8-17 overall and 6-12 in conference.

Starting off with the ALL-HCAC awards for The Lions is freshman Devin Young (Crestwood, KY / South Oldham). Young received the honor of being named HCAC Freshman of the Year for having an outstanding freshman season. He averaged 14.7 PTS/G, 5.6 REB/G, and 2.2 AST/G. Young's career high came early on in the season on the road against Earlham when he recorded 28pts. Young was also named an honorable mention for the 2018-19 season based off of his hard work offensively and defensively.

Next on the list is senior Jake Cropper (Georgetown, OH / Georgetown) earning 2nd Team All-HCAC. Cropper was a leader this season on and off the court. He lead The Mount this season in points per game averaging 15.5, this stat also landed Cropper as fifth best in the conference. Cropper also was at the top for rebounds per game averaging 4.9. His season/career high game came this season at home against Waynesburg when he recorded 38pts. During this game he also recorded 11 rebounds, 2 assist and 1 steal.

Senior Liam Rabe (Lakeside Park, KY, Dixie Heights) earned the HCAC Sportsmanship award for The Mount this season. Rabe played valuable defense off the bench for The Lions all season that will be missed next season.
