Men's golf finishes fifth at Mount Union

ALLIANCE, Ohio -- The Mount St. Joseph University men's golf team traveled to Alliance, Ohio and the Tannenhauf Golf Club for the 2018 Mount Union Fall Invitational. The Lions finished with a team score of 617 to finish in fifth place overall. 

The Lions were led over the weekend by a pair of sophomores, Ethan McCarthy (Cincinnati, Ohio/Oak Hills) and David Dattilo (Cincinnati, Ohio/Elder). Dattilo fired in a team-low opening round of 74, and followed that up with a second round 79. His overall score of 154 was good enough for him to tie for 25th overall in the tournament. McCarthy opened with a 79, before firing in a second round 73. He finished with a 152 overall, which was good for 18th in the tournament. 

Senior Josh Kruzel (Toledo, Ohio/St. Francis DeSales) also had a solid weekend, firing in consecutive rounds in the 70's. In round one he shot a 77, and in round two he shot a 79. Overall he shot a 156, which was good enough to tie him for 35th in the tournament.
