McCarthy leads men's golf to fourth place finish at Anderson

ANDERSON, Indiana -- The Mount St. Joseph men's golf team traveled to Anderson, Ind. to take part in the Anderson University fall preview tournament. Among the participants in the tournament were five of The Mount's Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference foes. 

Sophomore Ethan McCarthy (Cincinnati, Ohio/Oak Hills) again led the Lions, as has been the case for much of the season. He would finish in a tie for sixth place overall, with a two round total of 159. Senior Josh Kruzel (Toledo, Ohio/St. Francis DeSales) was The Mount's second highest finsher, finishing in a tie for ninth place with a score of 160.

All five Lions were able to finish in the top-25 in the tournament. Matt Paluga (Cincinnati, Ohio/Northwest) with a 165 finished 16th, David Dattilo (Cincinnati, Ohio/Elder) finished 18th with a 167, and Frankie Hofmeyer (Cincinnati, Ohio/Elder) scored a 170 and finished 25th. 

This will be the Lions final tournament of the 2018 fall season, they will take to the course again in 2019. To open the spring schedule they will take their annual spring break trip to St. Helena Island, S.C. for the Adidas Intercollegiate Invitational hosted by Ohio Wesleyan.
