Terre Haute, Ind. - The Lions traveled to Terre Haute, Ind. Wednesday night to take on the Fightin' Engineers of Rose-Hulman. Rose-Hulman got ahead early in the first half with two goals and never looked back.
The first half started with each team exchanging shots on goal but Rose-Hulman's was able to find the net. In the 15th minute Rose-Hulman's AJ Yilmaz found the back of the net to make the score 1-0. Rose-Hulman kept the attack coming and in the 21st minute Yilmaz found the net again making the score 2-0 in favor of Rose-Hulman. The Lions defense would then buckle down and only allow one more shot on goal in the half. As the second half kicked off the Lions came out firing with two shots by Sophomore Joshua Bailey (Winchester, Ky./George Rogers Clark) but they weren't able to find the net. After shots were traded back and forth the Fightin' Engineers found themselves on the board again in the 74th minute stretching their lead to 3-0. But the Lions defense was able to keep Rose-Hulman off the board for the rest of the game ending with a final score of 3-0. Goalkeeper Gustavo Gutierrez (Montclair, Cali./Boone Co.) ended the game with a total of 6 saves with 9 shots on goal.
