Lions Unable to Compete Against Tigers

DELHI, OH - The Mount St. Joseph University women's lacrosse team competed against the visiting Tigers of Wittenberg University in a home field matchup. The Lions were unable to hold down the Tigers offensive, as the Tigers were able to attack The Lions defense. In the end The Lions were unable to compete and lost to the Tiger by a score of 18-3.

The Lions found themselves on the defensive side of play for much of the first half while the Tigers were able to keep finding the back of the net. The Tigers quickly went up 2-0 on The Lions within the first two minutes of play. It didn't take The Lions much longer to find the back of the net for themselves. Junior Brianna Brannon (Cincinnati, OH / Seton) found the back of the net first for The Lions as she scored herself an unassisted goal. The Tigers didn't take long to take the lead back as they were able to score 10 more goals throughout the first half before The Lions were able to find the back of the net again with just 1:28 left in the half as Joy Glacken (Cleves, OH / Taylor) scored off of an assist from Megan Dancer (Springboro, OH / Springboro). The Tigers would score once more before the halftime horn sounded, building their overall lead over The Lions to 13-2.

The second half started in very similar fashion to the first, as The Tigers were rapidly able to find the back of the net. The Lions were held scoreless throughout most of the half until Brianna Brannon was able to find the back of the net for the second time in todays game, making the score 17-3 in favor of the Tigers. Much like the first half, the Tigers were able to find the back of the net in the final minute of the game, ultimately defeating The Lions by a score of 18-3.
