The Lions continue their strong play in HCAC

LOCATION: Jim Rendel & Intramural Fields (Terre Haute, IN)

THE BASICS:

The Lions faced the Fighting Engineers of Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology to continue conference play. The Lions found the goal first in the first half to take the lead going into the half. The Lions kept it coming in the second half

HOW IT HAPPENED:

The game started with Rose-Hulman taking control of the ball. The Fighting Engineers took a few shots but the Lions defense was able to counter. Neither team was able to make strong plays on the goal until Etelle Nfor (Frankfort, Ky / Western Hills) found the net on an assist from Jodie Wiemer (Cleves, OH / Taylor). The goal was scored in the 29th minute to give the Lions a 1-0 lead. The Lions defense would keep up the pressure to control the tempo in the first half and keep Rose-Hulman scoreless. The Lions continued their momentum going into the second half. The Lions would find the goal again in the 63rd minute on an unassisted goal by Kaylan Gruber (Harrison, OH / Harrison). Brooke Chaille (Cincinnati, Ohio / Oak Hills) connected with the net in the 72nd minte on an assist from Wiemer to give the Lions a 3-0 lead. The Lions weren't done as Gruber found the back of the net once again in the 80th minute on an assist from Nfor. The Lions controlled the tempo for the rest of the match and went on to win 4-0.

LIONHEARTED PERFORMANCE:

Gruber earns the LionHearted Performance for this game due to her two goals against the Ravens. Gruber continues to lead the HCAC in goals scored and points during the 18-19 season.
