Lions split matches at Manchester

LOCATION: Stauffer-Wolfe(North Manchester, Indiana)

THE BASICS:
Mount St. Joseph traveled to HCAC rival Manchester, for a tri-match with the Spartans of Manchester and the Bulldogs of Adrian College. The Lions would split the matches on the day, dropping the match to Manchester before defeating Adrian.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

Game 1:

The first match of the day featured HCAC foes, and was as hardfought as you may expect. The Lions took the sets 1 and 4 by scores of 25-22 and 28-26 respectively. They dropped games 2 and 3 by a total of six points the scores were 25-23 and 25-21.

That brought on a desicive game 5, with the score a tight 9-10 in favor of the Spartans. But the Lions committed 3 attacking errors over the final rallies of the game and fell 15-10.

Game 2:

In Lions second match they would face of with the Bulldogs of Adrian. And this time they would come out on top. Game 1 of the match was extremely close with the final score settling at 29-27 in favor of the Lions. They would also win games 2 and 4 by scores of 25-23 and 25-18 to get the win. 

STANDOUTS:

In game 1 the Lions were led by Josie Andres who had 11 kills in 22 attempts for a .364 percentage.

In game 2 the Lions were led by Cailey Plemmons who had 12 kills in 21 attempts for a blistering .571 hitting percentage.

UP NEXT:

The Lions play host on Tuesday to the Pioneers of Transylvania University, the game is scheduled to get underway at 7:30 pm.
